How to learn to crochet

How I did it: I searched videos on youtube and none of them were all that clear too me. I have the book Scarf Style by Pam Allen and in the back are some basic crochet instructions and those helped a lot.
I found a free amigurumi pattern that I liked and started following that, but made it my own by the end.
Lessons & tips: Choose a yarn that is easy to work with! I used some very stiff yarn that probably made my experience a little more frustrating than it should have been.
