How to release a bookcrossing book
How I did it: This is my way of getting rid of the books that I have finished and don't want anymore. It went along with some of my other goals, which were to read all the unread books on my bookshelf and to get rid of things that I don't need anymore. I had a stack of four books on my shelf and tonight I decided that I would finally get rid of them and complete this goal. So I went to the bookcrossing website to make sure I had already registered them, wrote the BCID and a note inside and dropped them off at the pre-determined locations. I went to the gym tonight so I left one on a table in the lobby and the other in the locker room. The third one I left in the lobby of the building I live in. Tomorrow, I'm going to put one on the steps of a building that I have class in.
Lessons & tips: Find some books you can give away, whether they have just been sitting on the shelf or bought at a thrift store or library sale. Go to the website, make an account, register them, then write the BCID number inside along with a note explaining what the finder is supposed to do. Click on the release link to determine which book to release and where. Now, all you have to do is drop them off and see what happens. Have fun!
