Hi there! I always looked at www.fastweb.com, because they have a “college finder” so you can look in a specific state for a specific major but it can give you a good idea of the colleges in your area if you are looking. It also has useful statistics like retention rate (how many freshman came back for the sophomore year) and graduation rates (how many freshman made it through and graduated)
A more cost-effective way of going to college is to go to community college. You can enroll in a couple classes and find out what you like—and not spend a ton of money per credit doing so! (I am doing it this way, and as opposed to going back to my “home institution” I am saving $21,000 a year in tuition costs by going to a community college.
The next great resource is to really look into the college websites (any college) that you are considering applying to—even look at ones you don’t know much about—find their program guides and read their course catalogs. ALL the information you need about that school is in those two documents.
Let me know if I can be of any further assistance. :) good luck!! :)
