How I did it: I did have two books and the power prep software. I made it mostly through one book (the kaplan study guide), but I mostly didn't study. I did the two practice tests that were park of the power prep software the two days before my test.

If I had it to do over again I would (1) take one practice test, (2) review all that basic math I forgot in the past 7 years, (3) memorize the most common GRE vocab words, and (4) take the second practice test.

However, it looks like I will have a 2nd chance on the verbal section as I got a letter from ETS saying that I fell in the small percentage of people who may have been harmed by the test's algorithm. Yay free retake (on my worst section too)!
