How to stop procrastinating
How I did it: This is a tough behavior to eradicate. I find that I might focus on work issues, or housekeeping issues, or organizational issues, etc. It seems regardless of the area I focus on, other areas fall into "disrepair." I put off "Task A" knowing I need to focus on "Task B," whether I do anything about Task B or not.
I have found I need to break projects down into smaller portions, then schedule time to focus on each project. At least once a month (or week, depending on task), I reserve a large chunk of time (a day?) to focus on one big task/project. Keeping a goal sheet helps me stay on track and gives me a sense of accomplishment when I can strike things off the list.
Lessons & tips: Prioritize! Then break projects down into small, manageable tasks. Write down these tasks and make it a ritual to mark off those you've done.
Time management is very important. Schedule time to attack your tasks and stick with the schedule.
