How to get a rook piercing
How I did it: I'd long wanted a rook piercing, but only decided that I JUST HAD TO HAVE IT OMG two days ago. I had leftover Christmas money, so I pipped on over after doing some research online. Research which, incidentally, only really served to scare me. Horror stories abound-- it never heals, it's the most painful piercing EVAR, don't even think about getting this, etc.
Well, it wasn't the most painful piercing EVAR. Far from it, actually. A lot of pressure, a little weird pop sound, and it was done. The piercer actually accidentally poked me in the earlobe with the needle, but whatever. She was pretty embarrassed about it, heh.
It wasn't hurting at all when I got home, and when I settled down to take my Friday-afternoon nap, I could even lay my head on that side with no discomfort. It was really strange. Well, when I woke up it was considerably more sore. Now the side of my head hurts when I laugh/smile.
