How to tame my creativity
How I did it: Having started with the Artist's Way, I've discovered many powerful tools to unblock my creativity and increase my productivity. All of the sudden, it wasn't a matter of being in the mood for arts anymore, this general dissatisfaction I felt with my life was only the result of heavy procrastination (waiting for art to seem easier), I had to pull myself together : 'EASY DOES IT' became my mantra and one page at a time, one stroke at a time, one small daily action taken, I felt like I was going somewhere AT LAST. We, artists, are not crazy, it's just that when we don't keep the drama on the page or the canvas, we tend to create dramas in our own life, often unneeded dramas and instead of asking ourselves what the next right step is, we tend to pass to the next worry on the list (even if it means having to worry because we have nothing to worry about). Life is easy, art is a means to life and therefore it shouldn't always be difficult, depressing and isolating.
Lessons & tips: Here's one quote by Henry Miller that I like so much:
'Develop an interest in life as you see it; the people, things, literature, music - the world is so rich, simply throbbing with rich treasures, beautiful souls and interesting people. Forget yourself.'
