How to be a published writer

How I did it: I joined the local Chamber of Commerce that had a vacancy in a few board positions. One of the requirements is to provide articles of interest for the newsletter. Is the newsletter a national publication? NO, but it does have people who read it and let you know of their opinions. I find it fun to share ideas and hear other opinions as well.
Lessons & tips: Be open to everyone's opinions.
