How I did it: Put an ad in the local paper for Scottish Borders, got a call from a landlord, borrowed a load of dosh off my mum for the deposit, spent two weeks packing all my stuff, phoned round for a cheap removal firm, arranged some help at the other end, packed and shifted all my gear and here I am!
Lessons & tips: Get as many quotes as possible for removals, get plenty of boxes well in advance, running out of boxes is the worst problem moving house
