How I did it: Found the exercise that I enjoy. Then I started to do it several times a week. It became a habit for me. I go with my husband. He enjoys going frequently and pushes me to go on days I don't feel like going and I push him on other days. It really works out to have each other as a team effort.Then after we exercise we sit in the hot tub as a reward. I look forward to that so I get excited to go.
Lessons & tips: The best thing you can do is find what you enjoy. If you don't enjoy it, it's really hard to stick with the exercise. You will find excused to back out of something you dread. But if you're having fun you will look forward to it. It also helps if you have a partner. If you're not in the mood, they might be and they may encourage you to go when you might have otherwise just let it go this time.
Resources: I looked at my local fitness center for classes that looked fun and exciting to me and sampled a few like Zumba and spin class and water aerobics.
