I know too, this is a hard thing to do, when you’re not used to it. Practice on customers and coworkers. I learned that paying attention to someone, means eleven seconds of eye contact then looking elsewhere for a few seconds then eye contact again. Too much eye contact can be creepy and you should slowly work your way up to that amount of seconds or anything close to it, even five to seven seconds is good enough.
