How to run a marathon
"Ran a marathon without ever running or racing beyond a 5K before starting my training schedule."
How I did it: I printed out a training schedule from RunnersWorld.com, and figuratively put it on the kitchen fridge by telling everyone that i was in training. My sister and i trained together, but without any formal training. We raced the Dallas White Rock marathon in 2008 and liked it so much we came back for more at White Rock 2009. We are currently in training for Oklahoma City.
Lessons & tips: - Have a schedule, print it out, or add it to whatever calendar app you like.
- GET GOOD SHOES!! Have them fit at a running store.
- Get a buddy or find a running group to join if you need motivation
