How I did it: Getting rid of cable helps a lot. Also - not having a TV in my room. That way I can only watch movies in the living room, or TV shows on my computer.

Entertainment is important, but there are better ways that are better for you, so try to do those things instead. Exercise works wonders.

Lessons & tips: Think about all the things that you could be doing instead of watching tv, and all the things you could be doing with that time. If you make being healthy and happy a goal in your life - it's easier to break away from tv.
