How I did it: I got secretly married so that I could be marked independent on my FAFSA. My love for my secret husband comes so easily that it seems to be an innate faculty that I harbor for him. Ironically, the change in status did not even yield much financial benefit. However, I am happy to have paid for all of these things, despite not going to Rome after all. I did not forsee the problem of getting married to go to Rome, which quickly turned me into not wanting to go in order to remain together... Odd, I know.
