How I did it: My fiance got me an interview at his work, and i literally had four and a half days to get my site & resume up to date. While I didn't get that job, I've since had several other opportunities present themselves!

Lessons & tips: as a graphic artist with little-to-no coding knowledge...it sure helps to have a fiance who is a web programmer :)
