How to explore "Aparigraha", or non-attachment, over the next two weeks as part of my Yoga practice
"Challenging, but worth it!"
How I did it: Mostly due to the fact that I was concerned about not actually accomplishing this, I started right away. I got rid of many things, recycled many old papers, and generally cleared off my desk - which is a huge feat.
I also bought a new bookshelf for my bedroom. The bookcases in my living room are not only full, but books are stacked double on each shelf. In my room, I had all the 'overflow', i.e. piles of books in the middle of my floor.
Either way, this practice was fruitful. Not only in a material sense, but in an emotional sense as well. It came at the perfect time in my life, as my main lesson in non-attachment has to do with my loved ones, and life/death - and in this way, I was tested very appropriately, almost as soon as I set out to explore Aparigraha.
Which, funny enough, is just as Patanjali says it will happen: as soon as you decide to do (or not do) something, you will be tested.
