How to go to an AA meeting
How I did it: I looked up a local meeting and got in my car and went! I had several to choose from at different times. Had gone to one before that I wasn't crazy about so I went to the other one further away. It was just what I needed. Step One. It took me going out with an old guy friend who still drinks but has his life "together"... so it seems.. and it got me wallowing in my sorrows of alcoholism.... He had been a huge partier and is now a prof. of philosophy, religion, etc. w/ a phd!
I've been working on my isolation skills so as to not deal with emotions and failures and that has not done anything to benefit me.
Lessons & tips: Stop thinking about it and just go.
