How to stop grinding my teeth
"A long process of stress management, but worth it, absolutely."
How I did it: I worked with my MD on this; among other things, it was stress related. Suffice to say, it's a long term process, and until you address the environmental factors in your life that are causing your subconscious mind to trigger that grinding-teeth compensation behavior, it's not going to just go away.
Interim measures I found help: work with your dentist to get a nice "night guard" - although you can usually get one for like, $6 from a sports store, which you run under hot water to make it soft enough to mold to your individual mouth - it's really a good idea to check with your dentist first. For example, if you have TMJ it can (doesn't always, but can) make it worse.
So, keep at it. it's worth it. Hang in there.
