How to learn to sew
"I am so very proud of myself!"
How I did it: First I took a beginning sewing class which taught me to read patterns. We made a very hideous skirt and shirt combo. (I couldn't help but wonder what they would do if a male signed up for the class)
Then, I found out I was pregnant a few months later. I picked a difficult pattern by Vogue and sewed my daughter's baby bedding, curtains, diaper organizer, etc. It was great! I got to pick out the fabric and spend less than I would at some place like Babies R Us. I loved the way it turned out. Now, if only I could find the time to keep sewing. She is a year old, and I barely have time to remember my list of 43 things. :)
Lessons & tips: Learn to read a pattern, and the rest is super easy.
