How to publish an article I wrote
"It's such a great feeling to see your name on the byline for the first time"
How I did it: I pitched my story idea to San Mateo County Time's Editor; it took awhile for them to approve it, but eventually they did. I was given about a month to write my story, and it's basically about honey contamination, and how a buttload of manufacturers use illegal additives in their products; this was an issue sprung forth by the Swine Flu epidemic. Basically, I did all my research first, making two beekeepers who are married the subject of my story, then I interviewed other beekeepers and bee experts. And then I wrote the story.
Lessons & tips: -Pay attention to detail!
-There's always another story within a story, depends how good you are in recognizing it.
