How to be accepted into Americorps

How I did it: I completed the application online, and sent the same app to at least 8 programs. I specifically wanted to participate in a program that did emergency response and planning... NCCC, or a State/National that encouraged travel.
Lessons & tips: I had three phone interviews, and was accepted into two programs. The fact that I was one of the first to submit my application was a big help, as was asking lots of questions during the interviews.
