How to go to the Renaissance Faire
How I did it: very easy to complete, just has to be the right time of year. I went with 4 friends. we bought our tickets at the grocery store ahead of time to save money (HAHA), piled into Lisa's car & headed out to BFE where the festival is held.
got in & OH MY GOD was it boring. I don't know if other towns have great festivals, but the one in Phoenix was just awful. the people working the festival were all in costume but almost none of them spoke with a 'period' accent. they didn't even try to make it a somewhat authentic experience. very disappointing. plus it was extremely crowded, full of trashy people & families with kids. not very fun.
I'm glad I can check this off my list, but I think I would've been happier having never gone to the 'ren fair.'
Lessons & tips: everything it SO EXPENSIVE. it cost us $18 (discounted price) to get in, and everything inside costs extra. I spent $5 on a plate of fish & chips that was so disgusting I could not finish eating it. all of the souvenirs & fun things to do cost a fortune. the only thing I really enjoyed was archery! they had a shooting range with bows in each stall & you could buy arrows to shoot. I did this with a friend & it was quite fun. I got a bullseye.
