How to donate clothes that remind me of my former life, or that I haven't worn in 3 months. by swanndive

"Stiil in progress...three large bags gone..."

How I did it: I started going through boxes of clothes I had packed back in DC.  It was really hard.  Lots of tears and memories.  

But I know that eventually I need to move on, and you can't do that with so much baggage.

I got out several HUGE trash bags and filled them up.  I was really happy to turn the stuff over to Goodwill.  Some of the clothes were really rad.  I'll miss them, but now I have a little more room for vintage.

Lessons & tips: LET IT GO!  It makes you lighter.
