How to get a tattoo
How I did it: I always wanted to be tattooed ever since I was a kid. I don't know why, I just did. Nobody else in my family really had tattos except my unlce. As soon as I turned 18 I was in the tattoo shop picking stuff out. At first I was young and dumb, and really didn't have a good idea as far as what i wanted to do with my body. So I got a lot of stuff spur of the moment right off the wall. Hind sight is 20/20 so now I know thats not the best way to go about it. Now I have an exact idea of what I want my tattoos to be and what they represent. I'm working on that goal now still, 10 years after I started, I have ink I still want to get. Priorities have changed since becoming a husband and father, but tattooing is still a passion of mine.
Lessons & tips: Get an idea or find an image that you like, hang on to it for at least 6 months. Carry a wallet size of it around with you. Give it a lot of thought! Tattoos may not be as "permanent" as they used to be but laser removal is a big pain in the ass. Better to just make a good choice to begin with, then make a fast one and regret it. Also, find the right tattooist that can really understand what you're going for and look at his/her previous work to make sure you like the work that they do.
