How I did it: I switched dentists because my previous dentist didn't get coverd by my insurance, and it hurt a lot, even the cleanings hurt. the new dentist is really nice and doesn't hurt at all.
My teenagers went first for cleanings and they said it was fine so I  went next,  now gotta get my husband there!

Lessons & tips: Keep switching until you find domeone you are comfortable with and can afford - he or she is out there, I promise:)
