How to go on an adventure
How I did it: We got out of school early one day and I was not going to just hang around my house being bored. I'd been wanting to go on an adventure, but had been so busy it just hadn't become a reality. The thing about adventures I think people get wrong a lot of the time is that it doesn't have to take place far away or doing anything especially spectacular, it's just doing things differently.
So I went to my mom's work and kidnapped her for the afternoon. We went and had lunch, shopped, bowled and in general had a good time. We were just driving around to local places, getting lost a couple of times, and laughing all the way.
Lessons & tips: So how to have an adventure?
-
Step 1: Find time. Don't put a timer on your adventure, it sucks the fun
out of it.
-
Step 2: Find a buddy. This step is not always necessary and I have gone
on several adventures solo but it tends to be more fun if there's
someone to laugh with you.
-
Step 3: Get out. Avoid locations such as home, and work. You'll be
dragged back to your daily rituals thus defeating the purpose.
-
Step 4: Get lost. Getting lost is one of the scariest and most thrilling
things you could possibly do. You often encounter the most amazing
places and people when you get outside of your comfort zone by gong new
places. I've had some interesting experiences with new places, most good
some weird but never bad.
That's how I recommend you have an adventure, and even though my own
haven't been as grand, I'm saving the better ones for later in life.
They don't have to be wild they just have to be fun. ;) Hope this helps
anybody who reads!
God bless!
