How I did it: I'm always doing something new with my hair. I hate being bored with it so I'm constantly trying to find new hairstyles, adding highlights, box dying it, getting new bangs or just chopping it all off. I decided to go mainly blonde (with a little brown left underneath) during my sophmore year. Overall, I liked it but ended up going back to my natural hair color a year and a half later. I got my hair done at Regis and after the first attempt I went home and cried. My hair turned into an almost flourescent orangey-yellow color and I wanted it back immediately. I called the manager back after I calmed down and the head stylist agreed to fix it in the morning for free. She ended up bleaching it again and adding toner which ended up perfect. I might go back to blonde during the summer after I've got a good tan going. My boyfriends all for it. :P I guess we'll see. (:

Lessons & tips:

• If you have light skin then this can really wash you out. It washed me out a lot especially because I have really dark eyes which is one of the reasons I went back to brown hair.
  
• If your hair is still not as light as you want it then you can use a tanning bed (yes I know about skin cancer, so just use it in moderation) and it will lighten the color more.
  
• You should buy purple shampoo from the salon you go to. It also helps lighten and maintain the color. DONT KEEP IT ON YOUR HAIR TOO LONG. More is definately not better in this case. My aunt thought it was and she ended up giving her hair a purple tint. FOLLOW DIRECTIONS. (:
  
• In the summer, I also got a greenish tint to my hair from swimming so much. You can keep it from staining your hair by coating it in conditioner before you get in the pool and/or buying Paul Mitchell Clarifying Shampoo. It helped get the green out of my hair.
