How to join a band

How I did it: Met people who played music and asked if they wanted to jam. Once I moved out of my parents house and with some friends to Gainesville FL it became much easier to do this. A lot of the friends I had also wanted to play music there was a drum set laying around one of their apartments so we started to play together a lot.
My only regret is that we only played stuff in the apartment and never preformed anything.
Lessons & tips: try and make sure that the people you join a band with can actually make time for practice and want to be more than a garage band.
