How to get a part time job by TheLostPhish

How I did it: I applied to 26 different stores, I heard back from and had interviews with 7 of those, I got the job at the 6th I heard back from (as I was about to walk into the 7th store's interview no less :P) So it was 6th time lucky for me :P

Lessons & tips: You just have to keep trying and trying and trying, until you finally get one. Don't wait for a job to come to you, you have to be proactive and get out there.

Resources: Internet job sites are can provide opportunities (like seek.com)

If you're at uni, your uni might have a job listing page.
Walk around shopping centres looking for signs in store windows, but also look on the shopping centre website for job listings.
Go directly to store websites, they often have a careers page.
