How to see a space shuttle launch in person
"Magical, after a lifetime of wishing."
How I did it: Spent the night in Canaveral, and saw the pre-dawn launch of Discovery on Sunday! The sunrise afterward was probably even better than the launch, the plume turned colors & was so beautiful! I took 1.18GB of photos & video.
Been wanting to do this since childhood (grew up in Central FL, watching the launches from afar), and thought I wouldn't get a chance before the program ended. Well worth it!
Lessons & tips: There are only 3 launches left, and they will be crowded. COME EARLY. Bring snacks, restaurants will be mobbed. Just go for it, you won't get another chance!
