How to finish that project for grandma by energy

"Grandma's 90th Birthday Gift. Her own work turned into a family heirloom."

How I did it: I didn't do it.  She did it.  My grandma wrote an autobiography years ago.  She printed out one copy on regular printer paper and bound it in a 3-ring binder and it haphazardly got passed around.

  • I got my hands on the digital copy. 
  • Read it multiple times.
  • Formatted the hell out of it
  • Got my mom to sneak some old photographs to me and scanned them and inserted them into the book.
  • Mildly edited Grandma's work. 
  • Convinced my mom and aunts to write about how they feel about the book. 
  • Wrote an introduction incorporating their writings.
  • Formatted the hell out of the thing, again!!!!
  • Designed a cover and the cover pages with help from a designer friend.
  • Self-published on lulu.com
  • Ordered enough copies for the whole family, including all the children, to keep as heirlooms.
  • Informed my mom and aunts that there had better be an awesome party!
