"It feels great to get out and try new things!"
How I did it: I stumbled upon TG's 43 things one day and noticed his goal with exchanging rocks with 43er's. Before finding TG, I learned you can mail a rock at a recent trip to the post office. So I made it as a goal. Found a cool rock. PMed TG for his address. Put the address on a post-it and totally wrapped the rock so it arrives at it's destination. The rock is not in a box. The rock by itself was mailed. Then went to the post office and mailed a rock.
Lessons & tips: Read. I learned a lot of things recently by reading. You never know what you will stumble upon.
For example, just now I was looking for a picture of a rock because my husband has the camera at the moment. I found this website and just may have learned what kind of rock I sent TG. A gypsum rock. "
Rock gypsum is an evaporite rock that forms as shallow sea basins or salt lakes dry up enough for the mineral gypsum to come out of solution." I found the rock yesterday when I was in a wash. See, you never know what may happen if you don't get out there...
