How to stay in shape
How I did it: I never gave up. I fit it into my schedule however possible and picked up where I left off when I got off track. I started waking up early enough to work out in the mornings so it gets done. I include physical activity such has step climbing and walking into my daily activities as much as possible. I also started cooking and eating healthier and barely drink anymore.
Lessons & tips: Don't give up! Pick up where you left off and remember that some exercise is better than none.
Fit it into your schedule best you can. Even better, schedule a time for it, first thing in the morning if possible so it gets done. Feel good about making it an A.M. priority by knowing that it will energize and prepare you for the rest of your day.
Know when you need a day off, just don't make it a habit. Rest is just as important as exercise, so if you're not feeling well or feel you need some extra sleep, rest up and continue the next day.
Eat right and cook your own meals so you know what you're getting. Learn about nutrition if you don't know how to eat right. Drink plently of water and keep alcohol intake to a minimum. Treat yourself every now and then to a dessert or snack food. Just keep it in moderation. If you eat right most of the time, you won't feel bad about treating yourself every now and then.
Find an exercise that you enjoy.
Be disciplined. Make a point to do it. This is something that's impossible for someone else to do for you, but it is helpful to find support.
