How I did it: Austin, TX! That's where you go for music! Plenty of record stores to fill you collection. There's plenty of variety to choose from. Don't buy a 'mystery box' from a record shop...there's usually a bunch of crappy music even though it was a good deal for so many records.
Lessons & tips: If I could do it again, I'd spend more time searching for a quality turntable.
