How to run through a field of flowers
"It was a good idea, but a bad outcome."
How I did it: I went to antelope valley poppy reserve hoping to find beautiful fields of flowers in a serene setting but instead found a crowded overrated tourist spot with less than friendly service. Not what I pictured. I got yelled at for walking in the field by an official working there but I understand where they were coming from because your not supposed to walk on the flowers because they will die and not grow back. I guess I didn't do my research. Its kinda my fault for having such a lousy time.
After a long thought I concluded that things like "running in a field of flowers" should not be planned out. They should be more spontaneous. You can plan out an entire trip out but its those little moments of awesome that make a trip memorable. The field of flowers should have been just a small unplanned moment. Instead I made it an over planned over thought out trip.
However the trip wasn't all that bad. After we left the reserve, we spotted an ice cream truck. It was parked just on the outskirts of the park where there are still wildflowers but they are not protected by anyone. They are just there. So I had a little moment of unplanned awesomeness eating soft serve ice cream in a patch of orange poppies.
Lessons & tips: You can plan everything out detail to detail, but you never know how things will turn out.
And do your research. My resources were bad. I only relied on one word of mouth experience and the official website.
