How to go sky diving
How I did it: I did it because my roommate at the time had just been diagnosed with thyroid cancer. Her, my best friend, and my myself had nonchalantly talked about going sky diving in the past, but had never really made any definite plans until her diagnosis, which prompted her into action. In the days and weeks before the jump, I tried not to think about it too much. I grew up being afraid of heights; hanging out on the roof of my first Boston apartment would make me nervous. But when the day came, I put that jumpsuit on and just did it.. did it nervously, awkwardly, dorkily, but did it all the same. I'm really glad I did! (I'll probably never do it again, though!)
Lessons & tips: I went in Newport, Rhode Island and the staff was great. I recommend making sure that you're comfortable with the person you're going to be strapped to and that you have a great support network with you. Do it with a really close friend!
