How to see the northern lights

Amazed 
"Definetely not overrated. The FIRST "must to see" thing on earth"
How I did it: I took a trip beyond polar circle, and the sky was open so we saw them clearly.
If it would be cloudy during our 6 days beyond polar circle, we would have no opputunity to see NLs. So there is always some risk of paying for the trip and missing the scene due to clouds.
