How to grow my own food
"Really addictive and satisfying, I love nurturing the garden and seeing it grow!"
How I did it: I started off with some pots and seeds given to me by my boyfriend's mum, and some of her great organic compost.
I got the bug pretty quickly and ordered some free veg seeds from BBC;s Dig In campaign.
Then I ordered some more stuff online and just kept sprouting and planting out and repotting anf watering and chatting to my little seed babies and now they are all going great guns. Looking forward to a fab harvest in about a month, and already enjoying radishes and herbs.
Lessons & tips: Don't over or under water- it's a fine balance and differen plants need different things- make sure to read up on the needs of your seedlings, even if just on the back of the seed packet.
DO THIN seedlings, I didn't like pulling any up but it helps the others grow well- some you can try repotting elsewhere but don't count on survival!
