How I did it: By volunteering at a wildlife rehabilitation center. The mountain lions aren't being rehabilitated - they are permanent residents, or "ambassador" animals. Mostly, they get fed chunks of deer meat. It's kind of nerve-wracking - I only went in one part of their enclosure when they were locked into the other part, but it's still quite exhilarating (and a little bit scary) to be so close to such a powerful predator, even with chain link fence between.
