Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

I'm actually

trying the hat on in a gift shop at Disney World. Sadly, I didn’t actually buy it and yes! It is from The Nightmare Before Christmas. ;)

Your boyfriend is a nice guy...

It looks wonderful on you and I knew it was from Tim Burton’s , “The Nightmare Before Christmas,” LOL Why didn’t you get the hat? It’s so you?

I love his other animation work, like “Edward Scissor-hands,” and, “Joe and the Apple?”

It was

way too expensive so I had to pass on it, which is too bad because I’ve gotten a lot of compliments on it here! lol

That's too bad, maybe one day you get the...

chance to get it back, LOL It does look so cute on you…Your just too frugal (and sensible) as well as pretty. He’s really lucky to have a nice beautiful and sensible girlfriend as yourself.

(Nothing like this though LOL Heavens no way)

Okay, what I really want to know is how you clean so effortlessly? How do you set-up a cleaning schedule for yourself? I find cleaning this place too over whelming for me. There’s so many rooms to clean and taking care of my elderly dad besides, so how do you do it? Please help…

Cleaning

I basically took it one room at a time. I started by focusing on one room only for 30 minutes. After that one room was done, I would start the next day’s 30 minutes by tidying up anything that had gotten out of place in the “finished room” and then focus on the next room. By the end, it really became just going through the house and tidying up. :)

I started with the kitchen because that room is the first room you walk into in our house and the most used. Then I did the rooms that guests see (dinning room, living room, bathroom). Then the bedroom and the last thing to tackle was the study. Actually, the study still needs work, but it’s mostly boyfriend’s stuff so I’ve left it up to him, which is probably why it’s the most messy room in the house. lol

I put off cleaning for a long time because I had no clue where to start (I also had a lot of boxes to unpack from the move too and no place to put the stuff!). Buying some new storage pieces really helped me to organize as I went.

Hope that helps! :)
