"First time I had done a garage sale, glad that I did it and also feel prepared for another one in a couple weeks!"
How I did it: Went through all of my clothes.
Separated everything by where I bought them (if you can remember, or just separate by type)
Bought price stickers from the 99 cent store, alone with some big yellow garage sale signs.
Priced everything a little high, so that I had room to knock it down when asked.
Day before garage sale I posted an ad on Craigslist.com
Day of, I got out 3 tables, an EZ Up tent, and a few boxes to set everything out, and hang things up. Had my parents put up the garage sale signs on two busy streets near my house.
And went from there!!!
You can do it, you just have to DO IT! :0)
Lessons & tips: MAKE SURE you have a lot of change ($ .25, $ 1, and $ 5s).
I didn't sell everything like I wanted, and most of the time you won't. I know now that I probably priced things a little high. Doing it over again, I would've priced a little lower to make sure the sale was more of a success!
Resources: The 99 cent store in my area had great price stickers and posters for garage sales. It was nice to have and made it easy and very inexpensive.
