stareyedpanda being realistic is the most commonly traveled road to mediocrity
wow! It’s awesome that you had no reason to emotionally eat and you were able to cut back on portions. I wish I was like you.
How I did it: When I first got out of high school, I began over-eating to deal with all of my life changes. I also stopped excersizing thanks to not having a physical education requirement any more. This caused me to gain weight for about a year. I broke up with my high school boyfriend about a year after graduation. He was negative and was a big source of stress. Without having him around, I slowly started losing weight because I didn't have any reasons to emotionally eat. Seeing the progress from not eating except when I was hungry made me look at the portions of food I was eating on a regular basis to see where I could cut back to make more progress. I started eating less until I reached my goal weight, and now that I have successfully reached my goal weight, I am eating regular, healthy meals and excersizing to maintain my weight.
Lessons & tips: Look at your personal habits to understand where you could cut back.
