You're so right.
Not only is it incredibly hard to stay positive during a period of unemployment, but it is essential when looking for a job. Desperation comes across really strongly in an interview.
I am also unemployed, but I’m adjusted to just being at home.
I had a job at the local library, and with a lot of bad feelings, I quit. I haven’t even really been looking for another job (I am fortunate that my husband’s job supports us).
I was pretty ruined for about two months, because my social life and my sense of purpose mostly WAS my job. I felt so lost, because I no longer had a context in the community. I too dreaded running into people who would want to know what happened.
I had to kind of rebuild my sense of who I was, and what I was doing.
I would take a job again, if I found something that had meaning for me. I’m considering doing volunteer work.
