How I did it: I bought a dog from an online site, which I think was a mistake. After having done some research afterwards I think I may have bought from a BYB. Hopefully my dog does not have any serious issues later in life.
Lessons & tips: Be sure you work with a breeder you have done some research on. Don't buy from a pet store, and know what you are getting yourself in for. These dogs take a lot of time to train and keep entertained.
Resources: I bought Barron's Complete Pet Owner's Manual: Shiba Inu.I used a lot of online resources. My vet offered a boarding service which I utilized to help me socialize my dog. Because of where I got her, I don't think she was socialized at all as a puppy.
