It blossomed in Bakersfield, the least likely of places. Since then I have been recreating life, developing new friendships, reshaping old friendships, exploring and discovering. I came here hoping to figure out where “all the people like me” were hanging out. To some degree I have been successful. I am still looking for “more.”

I have come to delight in deep connectedness. Connection isn’t happening for me through words these days; it has come most through gazing and touch. Gazing with you, gazing at you. Seeing, but not looking. Esoteric I know, but I don’t really know how else to describe it. Touch has primarily expressed itself as massage, probably because I am an Esalen-trained practitioner. Cuddling could possibly work too. I have recently been giving massages away and have really enjoyed the connectedness that engenders. Within that context, I often find myself enjoying: sailing, contra dancing, massage, photography, fine woodworking, gardening, backpacking, trainhopping, spearfishing, ecstatic dance, contact improv, Esalen, SCUBA diving, campfires, foraging, cuddling, cooking (especially pastries), welding, hot springs, excellent food, the woods, music, reading, cycling, fiddling (unfortunately on the back burner), deep blue water, cycle touring, and walking in the wilderness on moonless nights.”
