How I did it: Around 2004-2005 I was really into Psionics in general, focusing specifically on Psi manipulation (almost required for any Psi-based specialty) and telekinesis. With Psi manipulation I saw results immediately, however it took me nearly 2 weeks of 20 minute daily practice sessions on the psi wheel to get results in TK. Shortly after, I got to the point where I could spin the psi wheel with decent speed, and switch directions in about 3 sec… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I took two semesters of Fencing (Sabre) at the local community college. It is a really fun sport. (The key word here being "sport." I know many people (my ex-coach included) who think that Modern Fencing is superior to Pre-Baroque era Fencing. Modern Fencing is actually a sport largely derived from 18th century smallsword swordplay (including epee and large portions of sabre), not a complete martial art in it's own right. It's merely a sh… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I haven't finished this goal, and I will obviously never complete this goal in a lifetime. I just wanted to clear a spot on my list. I'm also not quitting this goal. Think of this as myself reaffirming my way of life. Read how I did it…
How I did it: I was originally going to pick up Kali again, however in the end I joined the local chapter of the A.R.M.A. (Association for Renaissance Martial Arts) and plan to study the use of several weapon classes, as well as unarmed combat. (ringen)However the basis of my studies will be centered on the longsword. (I especially like how there is no “Ren. Faire dress-up” involved. B-) )By the way, Europeans didn’t just bash people with swo… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I took two semesters of Fencing (Sabre) at the local community college. It is a really fun sport, but NOT for people wanting to learn actual "swordplay." I know many people (my coach included) who think that Modern Fencing is equal to or (more often than not) superior to Pre-Baroque Fencing. Modern Fencing is actually a sport derived from bits and pieces of 18th century smallsword swordplay (including epee and large portions of sabre), no… Read how I did it…
How I did it: UPDATE: It has been a little over a month since I bought my unicycle and first attempted to ride the thing. I was able to ride forward a couple hundred feet and make wide turns within 12-15 hours. I now easily qualify for Level I uni proficiency. I still have yet to learn to idle and ride backwards, but otherwise I’m a happy camper. :DI love the looks I get when I ride my unicycle across vast parking lots. So amusing! Oddly en… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I originally started with a loaned copy of "How to Draw Manga" (by The "Society for the Study of Manga Techniques") and a paper and pencil. After a couple of years of drawing, observing people around me, and gleaning tips from many tutorials online, I'm at the point where I can draw almost what I want. Read how I did it…
How I did it: I bought a gourd and bombilla kit and a pound of Rosemonte yerba mate from Amazon, and to my surprise, it tastes a lot like a strong Green tea, mixed with a bit of coffee, and what chewing tobacco smells like.I like drinking my mate a bit diluted, and with a dab of honey. :DI also use my bombilla to drink loose tea. (Me likey green tea) Read how I did it…
How I did it: I learned how to sling with proper form, decent power, and enough accuracy to send rocks in the general direction I was facing in a couple of weeks. I was hooked already, but once I gained enough accuracy to place rocks within a 3 foot circle from 45' away, that's what really got me addicted. Well, that and making ever-more elaborate slings. :D Read how I did it…
