How I did it: To put this into perspective, I've been on Weight Watchers since early 2009. I'm currently on a quest to lose half my original body weight (yes, seriously obese here) and it's easier to break the whole terrific mass down into 10-pound increments--otherwise I'd give up before I'd begun. This segment of the weight loss journey I almost threw in the towel after staying right around the same weight for over a month. There were a number o… Read how I did it…
How I did it: My saga with Weight Watchers Online continues. The last few weeks have not been easy. I seemed to be hovering around a particular weight, not actually gaining but certainly not losing much either. Worse, because I wasn't making progress I felt far more tempted to give up, binge, and do other things that haven't really been an issue thus far. (There was a day when I actually did eat a whole lot of cookies. Broke my p… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I went on Weight Watchers Online. Unlike a lot of other people who enjoy the meetings and the social aspect of WW, I prefer to lose weight on my own, and the WW Online tools work really well for me to do just that.I've been losing slowly, averaging only a few pounds per week, but it's been a good experience simply because I now realize I am capable of taking the weight off. How I did it: I was playing German dodge ball in sixth grade. Linda NavĂ© had the ball and, not unsurprisingly, was preparing to hit the clumsiest girl in the sixth grade (that would be me, for those not following closely). I backed away, stumbled over a rock or a piece of tanbark, fell backward and my left wrist slammed hard into the blacktop. At first it just felt numb. Then, after only a few seconds, it began to hurt a bit, then a bi… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I have a whole lot more than 10 pounds to lose, but you have to start somewhere, right? So losing 10 pounds is the first milestone. For quite some time I've lollygagged around and avoided attempting to lose weight. When you have a whole lot of weight to lose (in my case, over 100 lb.), it's easy to feel discouraged before you even begin. Plus, hey, I LOVE FOOD. I don't like thinking about a lifetime of eating rabbit… Read how I did it…
How I did it: In 2002, my husband abruptly found himself out of work. We had a small amount of savings, which we burned through in a matter of months--and then we started using our credit card for monthly expenses. At the time, we figured it wouldn't be long until we had a job again, so we weren't overly concerned with the small balances we were running from month to month. Only the months out of work turned into a year and a half, an… Read how I did it…
How I did it: We actually ended up making every meal at home each day for a month. Breakfasts were easy, as they tend to be fend-for-yourself meals except on weekends; lunches tended to be sandwiches (for the kid) and the previous night's leftovers (for the hubby). I also planned a few meals with deliberate leftovers, so that at least once a week we could have a Mustgo Night (as in "everything must go!") where all the food had been home-coo… Read how I did it…
