How I did it: I went through my closet and made piles: clothes to keep, clothes to give away, and clothes to store (my winter clothes and fancy dresses). I made myself be firm - if I hadn't worn something in a few months or ever, or if I didn't like the way it fit, or if it looked a million times better on the hanger than it did on me it was out.
