How I did it: I live in China. I applied for the job online and got accepted because I have a white face, seriously, and can speak English. So it is real easy. Applying for a work visa was pretty straightforward but timely and slightly costly. Taking the plane here was long and boring, even with a week stop in Germany (which was nice).
