How I did it: I tracked my number of steps over three ordinary days, averaged the results, and plotted a gradual increase from that number to my goal (10,000 steps per day) over the course of six weeks. I tried to hit my daily quota without going too far over it, and my legs slowly grew stronger so that I can now walk 4-5 miles a day without undue fatigue. Now I just have to keep at it! How I did it: I called my cellphone company and asked them to port our home number to my cellphone. This happened disturbingly quickly and with no questions asked from our home phone provider, who put a check in the mail reimbursing our remaining unused service.I also moved almost all of our phone usage to Skype on an iPod Touch, brining our phone bills down 80%.
